How to navigate the main pages of the web-site and use its main functions...

General

As you browse Genialist Media Server like any web-site on a web-browser, here are some reminder about benefits:
  • On laptops and desktops:
    • You can use the keyboard to navigate through pages and links... The section Keyboard Shortcuts below contains some useful keyboard shortcuts.
    • You can right-click on links and open them into another web-browser tab...
    • You can play multiple video and audio files at the same time...
    • In a picture slide-show, you can use the keyboard or even the wheel on your mouse to go to the next picture or back to the previous one...
    • You can drag-and-drop pictures from a picture gallery into another software or into another page...
  • On iOS Devices:
    • You can swipe to the left on the screen to go to the previous page in your browsing history (this is a Safari feature)...
    • You can swipe to the left in a slide show to go to the previous picture...
    • Since version 0.9.23, you can swipe to the left in a video to go backward in the video or play the previous one...
    • You can swipe to the right on the screen to go to the next page in your browsing history (this is a Safari feature)...
    • You can swipe to the right in a slide show to go to the next picture...
    • Since version 0.9.23, you can swipe to the right in a video to go forward in the video or play the next one...
And some cons:
  • When you edit media information or change a thumbnail pictures, you may have to refresh some pages in some cases by clicking the "Refresh" button on your web-browser.
  • When the page is busy and does not give you back control, you have to click the "Refresh" button on your web-browser to reload the page.

Keyboard Shortcuts

If you use a desktop or laptop when browsing the server, you can type the following keys to navigate through the site or execute certain actions:
  • Enter:
    • Validate a dialog box...
    • Start a search when the cursor/focus in the search field...
  • Space:
    • Start, pause or resume a movie, music track or picture slide show...
    • Inside a Music Genre or Music Artist page, go to the "Play All" page and start playing the tracks...
  • Escape:
    • Stop a movie or video and close it...
    • Close a picture slide show...
    • Close a dialog box...
  • Page Down or Down or Right: Go to the next picture in a slide show...
  • Page Up or Up or Left: Go to the previous picture in a slide show...
  • Home: Go to the first picture in a slide show...
  • End: Go to the last picture in a slide show...
  • F: Go to the Movies page...
  • M: Go to the Music Albums page...
  • Delete: Delete a picture inside a slide show...

Toolbar

The toolbar contains various actions you can execute on the medias or the content of one media page.

It is collapsed by default.

Click on the button ∨ to expand the toolbar.
